Reflect, Innovate, Grow: CanLift’s Next Chapter
As we step into 2025, we at CanLift want to take a moment to reflect on the growth that defined the past year. The construction industry is entering an exciting phase, with Canada’s output expected to surpass $400 billion—a historic milestone that reinforces the sector’s critical role in driving economic progress.
In 2024, CanLift invested in cutting-edge technology to enhance our service, built stronger partnerships with our customers, and remained committed to supporting the people behind every project—our employees, our partners, the communities we serve, and the industry at large.
But our work is far from done. In a market dominated by multinationals and private equity, CanLift’s approach is rooted in the values that come from being an independent, family-operated business, meaning we take pride in delivering value that goes beyond the transaction.
2024 Milestones
With 15 years under our belt, 2024 was a year of transformation at CanLift. One of our most significant milestones was the implementation of a new ERP system. The new system allows for faster rental management, better fleet utilization, and more streamlined operations across the board.
This has already had a direct impact on how we serve our customers, with quicker response times and a more transparent rental process. The ability to track inventory and allocate resources more effectively ensures we can meet customer needs with greater efficiency and accuracy. A win-win.
But technology isn’t the only thing that defines us. In 2024, we focused heavily on customer relationships. With the launch of POR, we’ve been able to engage with our customers more personally, which is why over 18 months, we invested over $40 million in new fleet equipment and expanded our delivery capabilities with ten trucks transporting rental gear across the province.
We’re committed to being a trusted partner in all our customer’s projects, and that means staying responsive, reliable, and available when they need us most.
Giving Back to Our Community
CanLift has always believed in the importance of giving back. In 2024, we proudly supported a number of charitable initiatives and local events, and in 2025, we’re doubling down on our commitment to making a difference from sponsoring local sports teams to volunteering for causes close to our hearts.
What’s on the horizon includes exploring a formalized charitable giving program focused on youth development, education, and health and prioritizing partnerships with Canadian suppliers to support the local economy and reduce logistical footprints. We’re passionate about giving back to the communities that support us and that’s something we’re excited to build on in the year ahead.
Investing in Our Team
None of this would be possible without our dedicated team. In 2024, we made it a priority to invest in our employees. Training was a big focus, particularly around the new POR system, ensuring that our team was equipped to deliver the best service possible.
But we didn’t stop there. We also worked on fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Staff lunches, BBQs, and team breakfasts gave our people the chance to connect, recharge, and build stronger relationships. We know that happy, engaged employees make all the difference in delivering exceptional customer service.
Looking ahead to 2025, we’ll be expanding our professional development programs with leadership workshops and advanced training to give our employees the opportunity to grow their careers. One exciting initiative is our goal to transform CanLift into an “AI-First Organization,” empowering our staff to incorporate AI tasks and agents into their daily workflows. The aim is simple: make their jobs easier and more enjoyable, boost productivity, and deliver even better service to our customers.
We’ll also be introducing an employee recognition program to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our team. We believe that investing in our people is one of the most important ways to ensure our continued success.
To Our Customers
To our customers: thank you. Your trust and loyalty drive everything we do, and your feedback inspires us to improve. As we plan for 2025, we’re making significant investments to serve you better.
Our current inventory includes over 1,200 pieces of equipment from forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers representing leading brands like Genie, JLG, and Skyjack. In 2025, we’re expanding our fleet with new boom lifts ranging from 45 to 150 feet, ensuring rental projects across Ontario stay on track.
We’ll also be exploring new technologies to enhance efficiency and customer service and will be continuing to optimize our POR system to streamline your experience. With CanLift Connect™, you’ll continue to manage rentals, request service, and access contracts and invoices—all in one place. Our goal is simple: to be the partner you rely on, no matter the size or scope of your project.
Shaping the Future
As Managing Partners, we’ve learned some valuable lessons over the past year. First, adaptability is crucial. The implementation of the POR system taught us that embracing change can lead to huge improvements in the long run. Second, investing in our people is non-negotiable. When our employees succeed, our customers succeed. And third, maintaining strong relationships — with customers, employees, and partners — is at the heart of everything we do.
